This year’s theme, “Shared Public Space”, underscores our commitment to creating vibrant and accessible urban areas that encourage walking, cycling, and public transport as daily transport choices. Locally, we are launching several initiatives to align with this theme. These include establishing temporary bike lanes, hosting car-free day events, and improving pedestrian access in key areas to promote safer, more sustainable ways of moving around our community.
We also celebrate the success of our past initiatives, such as the pedestrianization of the downtown district which has not only reduced vehicle emissions but also boosted local businesses due to increased foot traffic.
